Create A Purchase Order

Create A Purchase Order, from The EDM Guide to Shopify. This covers all 7 sections, in about 1 minute.

Open Purchase orders to track stock you have ordered from suppliers.

Click Create purchase order to start a new one.

Pick a supplier you have ordered from before, or add a new one.

Click Create new supplier the first time you order from them.

Add their company name. Address and contact details are optional.

Save the supplier. You can reuse it on every future order.

Choose which location the stock is being delivered to.

This order will receive inventory into that location.

Search your catalogue for what you are ordering.

Tick a product to add it to the order.

Add the selected products to the order.

Set how many units you are ordering.

Set the cost per unit. This is what you are paying your supplier, not your retail price.

Add a reference number so the order is easy to find later.

Cost summary totals the order as you build it.

Click Save. You can receive the stock into inventory once it arrives.
