Cookie Policy
Last updated 3 August 2026
This page explains what we store on your device when you visit edm-uk.com, why we store it, and how to change your mind.
The Short Version
We set no cookies at all unless you accept analytics. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, nothing is written to your device beyond a note of that choice, and that note is not a cookie. We do not use advertising cookies, we do not track you across other websites, and we do not sell or share your browsing data.
What A Cookie Is
A cookie is a small file a website asks your browser to keep. It can be read back on your next visit, which is how a site remembers things. Some cookies are needed to make a site work at all. Others, such as analytics, are optional, and under UK law we have to ask before setting those.
Cookies We Use
Only these, and only the analytics ones if you accept.
| Name | Type | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Analytics, Google | Tells apart one visitor from another so we can count how many people visit and which pages they read. Set only if you accept. | Up to 2 years |
_ga_4GF6456M8R |
Analytics, Google | Keeps the state of your visit for Google Analytics 4. Set only if you accept. | Up to 2 years |
edm-cookie-consent |
Necessary | Records whether you accepted or declined analytics, so we stop asking. Held in your browser's local storage, not as a cookie, and never sent to us. | 1 year, then we ask again |
Keeping The Contact Form Secure
Our contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a real person is sending the enquiry rather than a bot. It is a security measure, so it runs whether or not you accept analytics. In our testing it sets no cookies on this site. Cloudflare processes technical details such as your IP address to make that check. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.
What Google Receives
If you accept analytics, Google Analytics 4 receives the pages you view, rough location from your IP address, and basic device and browser details. We ask Google to anonymise your IP address. We use this only to understand which pages are useful. See Google's Privacy Policy. You can also install Google's Opt Out Browser Add On to block Analytics on every site.
The Map On The Contact Page
Our contact page shows a map of our office, embedded from OpenStreetMap. It sets no cookies, and it loads whether or not you accept analytics because it is part of the page rather than a tracking feature. Like any embedded content, it does mean OpenStreetMap receives your IP address and basic browser details when the map loads. That is why we use it: a Google Maps embed would set third party cookies as soon as the page opened, which would make the promise at the top of this page untrue. See the OpenStreetMap Privacy Policy.
Change Your Choice
Analytics Cookies
Accepting lets us count visits. Declining changes nothing about how the site works.
Checking your current choice.
Declining also deletes any Google Analytics cookies already on this site. You can clear cookies for any site at any time in your browser settings.
More On Your Data
Our Privacy Policy covers everything else we collect, including what happens when you use the contact form.
