A checkout is abandoned when someone enters their email at checkout, then leaves without paying. Shopify lists them here, ten minutes after they drop out.

Recovery is automatic now. An abandoned checkout email is already written for you, waiting to be reviewed.

The automation itself lives in the Shopify Messaging app, free for your first ten thousand emails a month. Install it from Apps, the same as any other app.

Automations lists every message that sends itself. Open Recover abandoned checkout.

The trigger fires when a customer abandons their checkout, and Active means it is already running.

Each automation holds the message it sends. Edit its wording, design and sender here before it goes anywhere.

Edit workflow opens it in Shopify Flow, where you set how long to wait before the email sends, and who receives it.
